Scott County Sheriff's Deputy and his K-9 Partner Zeus Successfully Locate a Fugitive Wanted for Auto Theft and Evading Police

Scott County- On 11-15-2024 at approximately 2:50 am this morning, Scott County Sheriff's Office Corporal Zach Brown was alerted to a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle traveling south on Interstate 65 (I-65) approaching Scott County.  Corporal Brown, accompanied by his K-9 partner "Zeus", observed the fleeing vehicle near mile marker 26 on I-65, where Corporal Brown and Zeus began monitoring the pursuit to assist once the pursuit ended. The stolen vehicle crashed in Southern Clark County, where the passenger was immediately apprehended by officers, but the driver was able to flee into a nearby brushy wooded area. Corporal Brown deployed Zeus into the area where the fleeing suspect was last observed. Zeus was able to locate the suspect after tracking him for approximately a quarter mile into the brush, where the suspect was taken into custody. Both suspects were transported to the Clark County Jail without further incident.

Corporal Brown and K-9 Zeus recently graduated from the K-9 handlers' course on November 8th, one week ago, where they together honed their police K-9 skills. Corporal Brown advised the following about this apprehension... "Zeus performed like a champ! This is the first human track I have had the pleasure of working with Zeus since graduation, and it was extremely gratifying to watch my partner successfully apprehend this criminal".
