The Scott County Sheriff’s Office investigated a Burglary at 700 East State Road 356 on March 13, 2013, where entry was made into the residence and several pieces of jewelry were stolen. Deputies were able to find where most of the jewelry which was located in pawn shops and from there interviewed two persons of interest.
After interviews, Deputies were able to file charges on Daniel Lee Stone and Tiffany Elisabeth Stone. Warrants were issues through Scott Circuit Court and the pair was arrested on April 4th and 5th, 2013 for the Burglary and Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
The pair remains incarcerated with bond set at $ 75,000.00 Cash In Fill or Corporate Surety.
Crashes: The Scott County Sheriff’s Department investigated 6 auto crashes during the week. One crash resulted in a motorcyclist having to lay his motorcycle down due to a vehicle pulling out in front of him near U.S. 31 and Moonglo Road. Gabriel A. Henderson was transported to the Scott County Hospital for abrasions to the body.

Specifically targeted towards teens ages 15-18 who are about to, or have recently received their driver’s license, Rule the Road gives teens the unique opportunity to learn and practice skills they need to keep them safe behind the wheel. Sponsored by the Scottsburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Indiana Students Against Destructive Decisions, and State Farm Insurance, CEASe of Scott County. This day-long event is FREE and pre-registration was required to participate. However, there will be other activities on site that do not require preregistration.
Scott County Jail Officers took 22 inmates to Circuit Court and 30 inmates to Superior Court. There were 5 transports of inmates to various locations. There are 120 persons incarcerated in the Scott County Security and 32 persons being housed in the Clark County Jail.
