On April 2, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded with Scott County Emergency Medical Services to 392 West Craig Road for a death investigation.  Scott County 911 Dispatch Center received a call stating that there was a person inside of the house that was not breathing and didn’t have a pulse.  Upon arrival, EMS tended to the deceased person and subsequently notified the Scott County Coroner.  Law Enforcement interviewed witnesses and collected evidence at the scene.  Michael L. DeWeese was pronounced deceased at the scene and subsequently transported Louisville for an autopsy. 

 

On April 5, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Scottsburg Police Department at the Scottsburg High School.  Information was received that a Bomb Threat was reported at the school around 10:30 AM.  Law Enforcement met with school officials and determined that protocol would be followed in this matter.  Students were evacuated from the school and a room to room search was conducted. 

Scottsburg Police Assistant Chief Richie Barton and school officials reviewed video and identified a person of interest.  After interviewing the juvenile, he was said to have admitted to the allegations.  The juvenile was released to his father.  The investigation was turned over to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office as well as officials at the school district.     

 

On April 5, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and Lexington Fire Department responded to 5521 East Kinderhook Road concerning a structure fire.  Upon Deputy Johnson’s arrival, he discovered that the home was fully involved.  Deputy Johnson spoke with Connie Henry, whom was outside of the home; she stated that her husband, Ronald Henry was still inside.  Ronald was said to be bedridden.  He was later pronounced deceased by the Scott County Coroner.    

 

 The Scott County Security Center transported 31 persons to Superior Court and 28 persons to Circuit Court.  6 persons were transported to various locations, including Department of Corrections.  There are 117 persons incarcerated in the Security Center and 32 persons being housed in other counties.
