Burglary Investigation Leads to Vehicle Pursuit

 

 

Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies received information that Terry Kinworthy, a suspect in Scott County Burglaries, was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen in Seymour, Indiana.  At around 8:15 PM, Law Enforcement identified the stolen vehicle go through Crothersville and attempted to stop it near the Scott / Jackson County line. 

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Austin Police Department, Jennings County Sheriff’s Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department began the vehicle pursuit in Northern Scott County and it ended with the vehicle crashing in Western Jennings County. 

Law Enforcement activated emergency lights and attempted to stop the black Toyota Corolla, however, the driver, refused to stop.  The vehicle turned on Booe Road continuing East and then North on Bogardus Road, crossing over into Jennings County where Law Enforcement lost sight of the vehicle. 

Within minutes, Law enforcement was informed of a single vehicle crash that had occurred on County Road 800 West in Jennings County.  The driver, Terry Kinworthy, was trapped inside of the black Toyota Corolla and the passenger, Jerika Wayman, was able to exit the car and go find help. 

The Scott County Sheriff's Department recovered one weapon believed to be stolen and a small amount of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.

Terry Kinworthy was transported via helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
