SCOTT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

CORRECTIONS OFFICER PART TIME

POSITION: PART TIME

WORK SCHEDULE: (VARIES/24 HOUR PUBLIC SERVICE OPERATION)

 

QUAILIFICATIONS:

This position will primarily be responsible for monitoring inmates, transporting an searching inmates, including the possibility of strip searches. In addition, applicants must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. a copy of complete job description is available from the Auditor's office and may be obtained at the time of application; 21 years of age; Completion of or ability to complete required Indiana Law enforcement Academy Training; Ability to complete other required training as needed; Possession of a Valid Indiana Driver's License and be in good standing with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

 

APPLICATION    Application process: Candidates can obtain a Scott  County Employment Application from the Scott County Auditor's Office from 8:30 to 4:30 pm. The application must be submitted to the Auditor's office by 12 noon, Wednesday July 3rd, 2013.

                           Basic Skills Test: A written test for the job of Correction Officer will be administered on Saturday, July 13th 2013. Applicants must arrived at the Scott County Courthouse in the Commissioner's Meeting Room 1st floor to take the test. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and the written test will begin prompltly at 9:00 am. Applicants must arrive prior to 9:00 am and the test begins promptly at 9:00 am.

                           This exam will require approximately two (2) hours of time. Applicants are to bring a picture ID, preferably a Driver's license or State of Indiana ID card to verify identity at test site. Applicants MUST attend the test session to proceed in the selection process. Interviews will be conducted by the Sheriff's Dept. officials once tests have been sent off and scored.
